About Our Nursery

William Alvey Nursery opening September 2025

Our state-of-the-art Early Years facility has opened its doors, welcoming lots of local families already. Set in the grounds of the William Alvey school, this exciting development reflects the school’s commitment to ensure every child in the community benefits from the best start possible. Backed by the expertise and experience of the William Alvey staff, the children will also have access to the resources of the school.

The nursery provides flexible places, including the government-funded 30 hours free childcare scheme.

Our Headteacher, Mr Farrington says: “It has been a great honour, and a privilege, to be part of the journey to open a nursery for three and four-year-olds at the Alvey. It has been a joy seeing things come together. I am thankful to all those involved in making sure the offer we will make to the children joining our nursery will meet the highest possible standard. The work we have completed on our entire Early Years learning environment is something to behold. I am keen to share this with as many people as possible.”

If parents and carers have any children who need nursery provision, please contact the William Alvey school to book a tour. Call their office: 01529 302772 or email: admin@william-alvey.lincs.sch.uk

What is my child entitled to?

All three and four-year-old children are entitled to 15 hours of funded nursery education for 38 weeks of the year. This is called the universal offer.

Some three and four-year old children are entitled to 30 hours funded childcare.  Eligibility is linked to whether parents work, for how many hours and their overall income. If eligible, parents will be entitled to an extra 570 hours of funded childcare a year to use flexibly.

Please visit the Childcare Choices website to learn more: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

If you would like to find out more about our Nursery, and the William Alvey School in general, please begin by watching the film we have produced (below).

After watching the film, please contact school. We will happily arrange a tour of the Alvey for you. A tour of the school, ideally during school hours, is strongly recommended. It is a great way to get to know the school before making a decision.
